Welcome to Saint Andrew
Welcome to Saint Andrew
Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, located on the north side of Rib Mountain, serves the wider community of the Wausau area as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. When people are baptized at Saint Andrew the congregation boldly proclaims to them, “You belong to Christ in whom you have been baptized.” Saint Andrew Lutheran Church is a gathering of God’s people who belong to Christ.
In worship, we gather weekly to be nourished around God’s Word and God’s love made visible through the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. From this gathering we are sent into the world to love and serve our neighbors. At every stage of life, as you grow in faith, your joys and sorrows are welcome here. As you share your faith by living out your calling through your everyday living, you are welcome here. As the mission statement says, Saint Andrew is “open to all who wish to express their faith in God through Jesus Christ by worship, learning, witness, and service.”
Throughout the Church Year, people of faith gather in worship to recall, proclaim, and participate in the mystery of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Whether you have been to church before or are seeking to grow in a community of faith – come and hear about God’s love for you at Saint Andrew.
Thursdays at 12:15 and 6:15 in the chapel.
Sundays at 8:00 and 9:30 in the sanctuary.
The life and ministry of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church shall be open to all who wish to express their faith in God through Jesus Christ by worship, learning, witness, and service. From this gathering of God’s people shall come Christian love as its members minister to each other, the community, the nation, and the world. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the life and mission of this church can be fulfilled by those within it. Therefore, we wish to express our love of Jesus Christ through faithful support of, and active participation in, the mission and ministry of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church.
There are a variety of ways people participate in the life of Saint Andrew. A willing curiosity is the best way to begin. While membership is not necessary to participate in worship, singing in the choir, attend an event, or give faithfully in support of the church’s mission, it does increase one’s sense of belonging. At the core of our mission and identity we are “open to all.” We really mean it: all are welcome regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or faith background.
