Faith Formation is creating a 4-week, at-home VBS experience for families. Starting July 19 we will post a short video each week for your children to watch that includes a bible story, a song, and a challenge for the week. We will also provide a list of fun activities that can be done at home. This program was created with flexibility in mind. Families can engage in videos and activies whenever it is convenient! Videos and resources will be posted Sunday mornings to our Facebook page and under the Learning tab on the SALC website. of our plan looks like.
We have been working hard to provide Saint Andrew’s members with resources to support faith formation at home. Our newest way to connect is the SALC Family Faith Formation Facebook group. This group will provide resources for youth and families and serve as a network for members to connect online in a more focused environment than our church-wide Facebook page.
Summer 2020:”Just love” by Gladys Moore and Christa Compton
This three-session Bible study invites readers to consider how justice and love intersect. What does “just love” look like? How is this kind of love more than a sentimental or sanitized emotion, but is instead a love-in-action that seeks to dismantle the various systems of sin that damage God’s creation and harm God’s people? The first session has ended but join session 2 and 3.
To download and print all three sessions of this study for FREE, click here to view or print or sign-up or confirm your subscription to Gather’s free e-newsletter. Enter your information here, and we’ll email you a link to download this and other past summer studies. Theologian and public intellectual Dr. Cornel West once said, “Justice is what love looks like in public.” Christians often imagine that if we had enough love, we would be able to solve the world’s problems. But love by itself has been insufficient in eradicating the manifold forms of injustice that continue to plague our world.

When a person is baptized at Saint Andrew, we pray for the Holy Spirit to stir up a “spirit of wisdom and understanding.” One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the opportunity to be curious. Through intentional faith formation and the study of God’s Word, we strive to create a community of trust where questions are honored, doubts are shared, and faith grows over time. The Lutheran tradition is rich with resources that can help us to deepen our sense of understanding for a life of faith that is enriched by the voices of scripture, reason, tradition, and experience.
The Library at Saint Andrew provides a good blend of audio and visual resources and includes tools for Bible Study, discipleship, devotional practice, and entertainment.
