All your children shall be taught by the Lordand great shall be the prosperity of your children.” Isaiah 54:13

Focus On Faith

Faith Formation is re imagining Sunday school this year. With so many variables to consider, it was decided to not offer our traditional in-person Sunday school classes. One of the goals of the Faith Formation Ministry is to develop Small Groups that allow self-management with faith growth, community, social, and relationship-building connections. The goal is to help our children and members through this difficult time by providing a faith community – a place where kids and adults together can remember, tell, and share the story of Jesus. A place where weekly, children experience being known, heard, and seen by their families and other caring adults.

Introducing tRIBe

This winter you are invited to participate in a small-group, family-based, inter generational learning and fellowship opportunity for people of all ages we are lovingly calling “t.R.I.Be.” Tribe is an acronym for the phrase, “To remember I belong…” an echo of the promises we have made to children in their baptism, “You belong to Christ – in whom you have been baptized.” Families and members of all ages who are interested in participating will create small groups of around 10 people (kids and adults) to meet weekly and engage in a 12-week program starting February 14th. Parents are asked to participate with their children.

Starting with Jesus’ birth and ending with his resurrection, each week there will be a scripture passage, an activity, and discussion questions. Curriculum and additional resources will be provided by SALC.

For three weeks in March and April, students and families will have interactive conversation to learn about Holy Communion. A mailing has gone out with more information for fifth grade students and their parents. For those who are beyond fifth grade and interested in First Communion, please contact the office for more information.
